Debra Mack Larson is a first-time author. Her book, Pink Satin Sashes was truly a labor of love – for her mother and her mother’s art, as well as her own love of design. She graduated with a degree in Journalism from The University of Tulsa in 1973 and then worked for Coleman & Associates and Sayers Printing for the following 9 years as a graphic designer. In 1982, Larson began her own firm, Larson Design. Specializing in work for non-profits with the overall goal to create good design at a low cost, she worked for many well-known St. Louis organizations over the years…Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, Webster University, Landmarks Association, St. Louis For Kids, Family Support Network, and Bellefontaine Cemetery to name a few. She also worked for many St. Louis arts organizations – St. Louis Chamber Chorus, Webster Symphony, The Sheldon Chorale, Artist Presentation Society and The Metropolitan Orchestra of Saint Louis and has recently joined the Advisory Board of The Community Music School .
Larson loves making hand-made books and dolls, cut paper artwork, and creating artistic vignettes and table settings. During summers she paints signs for a local boutique wine/grocery store in Harbor Springs.
For over 40 years, Debra and her husband, Allen have worked to support organizations that support talented musicians of all ages. They spend winters in St. Louis and summers in Harbor Springs, Michigan.
